As a reminder, this was a cake for the graduation of a girl getting her masters in architecture. Her brother commissioned the cake and specifically requested it be a blimp. It was Italian cream cake with cream cheese and walnut frosting for filling. Fondant decorations were flavored almond to match the flavors on the inside.

This past weekend, my sisters and I threw my mom a surprise 50th birthday party. Below is the cake I made for the event. I couldn’t post anything previously about this cake for obvious reasons :)

The cake was my first attempt at a whimsical or “mad hatter” cake, and I am pretty happy with how it turned out. The cake was chocolate mint with chocolate mint buttercream filling and mint-flavored fondant decorations.
